Cleaning Tips for a Hard Surface Steam Cleaner

These cleaning tips for a hard surface steam cleaner are meant to show you some of the many ways you can use your device to keep your home clean.

When you think about something that cleans hard surfaces it may seem like that doesn’t really cover a lot of the area in your home, but there is a lot more than you think! There are your mirrors, your windows, your counters in your kitchen and your bathroom, your bath tub, your floors-and the list goes on. The most difficult thing for cleaning is that all of these really need different cleaning solutions and supplies to tackle the job. The great thing about having a hard surface steam cleaner is that you can do all this with just the unit itself, some water, and a cloth to wipe things dry.

Most portable units (all the ones I’ve seen) come with various attachments to clean different areas. These include a squeegee for your mirrors, brushes, hoses, etc. To really get out any stains on your nice surfaces, or get away tough mold, run the machine over the areas slower than you normally would to give the steam more of a chance to work through the mess. For particularly difficult problem areas you may want to go over it slowly multiple times, but eventually those marks will come off.

To clean your home all you need to do is full the machine up with some water, wait a few minutes for the water to heat up, and then start cleaning! Run your hard surface steam cleaner over the areas you’d like to clean as mentioned above, and then wipe them down with a cloth to get rid of the moisture. If you’re using the squeegee avoid the cloth on your mirrors and windows so you don’t get streaks, the squeegee will take care of it.

If you’re going to be doing your floors there are attachments to use a portable machine on them. I must mention, however, that using a steam mop for your floors is a great deal easier–it involves a lot less bending over and is just built better for getting to those areas. A mop unit comes with microfiber pads that you can throw into the washer and reuse, so they’re also self contained easy to use units.

There’s not a lot to the cleaning tips for a hard surface steam cleaner because they’re so easy to use but keeping a few things in mind, like running them slowly over stains and taking advantage of the multiple attachments, will help make your cleaning efforts easier and more effective.
